The past few days have been good fun getting to know the crew a little better.  The boat has been ready for a couple of days now and everybody is starting to get bored of waiting around, good news is that the waiting is nearly over.  We have a confirmed departure time for 1000 7th Jan, that’s tomorrow!!

Hopefully we will have some locals down to see us off in the harbour.  We have been really well looked after for the past week and our host Brendan, an Irish man who lives out here for the past 5 years has been beyond generous.  He has feed and watered us as well as arranging the hire care, giving us free accommodation and he even gave me his own watch today for the trip  the battery has just started to fade in mine.  He is a true gent and has made our stay in Agadir a whole lot less stressful than it could have been.

Andree sent out the press release 2 days ago and I have been back and forth with emails and phone calls to reporters in Ireland, so watch out for us in the paper and listen out on the radio we should have lots more coverage in the coming days as we call back with updates of our progress.

I will be updating the site from the boat via email so check back regularly for updates, our position will also be updated once a day on the site.  If you want to get in touch email land (at) atlantic5000 (dot) com and I will get your messages.

Finally many thanks for all the messages wishing me well, sorry if I did not rely but there have been so many it is hard to keep track.  Also massive thanks to Eamonn and the crew at www.flowersmadeeasy.ie for all the PR and technical support.  Special thanks to my beautiful wife Andree, without her support I could not have gotten this far, I look forward now more than ever to seeing her, I will row as fast as I can, see you in Barbados ‘Champ’.

I look forward to hearing from you all and most important seeing you for a pint when I get back to Killaloe.
