It just occurred to me today that all going well we should be heading out of Agadir to row across the Atlantic Ocean in only 20 days ! That means that I will be jumping on a plane to Morocco in a little over 2 weeks leaving my beautiful wife for what will be our longest time apart since we met over 11 years ago, but fortunately we will get to reunite on the Island of Barbados, for her birthday ( I won’t mention her age it might get me in trouble).
The past 10 days since my last post now seems a blur, I have been busy with work trying to tie up some loose ends, preparing the Coast Guard training plan for 2010 and of course fundraising and training for the row.
Last weekend was crazy with the poker night on Friday night, great fun was had and we managed to raise enough money to get me another 120 km across the Atlantic. Cheers to all who turned up and played and in particular to Jason Carey who put the night together. The poker finished up pretty late and the party a little later, but I had a good excuse, catching up with good friends.
Saturday went by in a blur putting the final touches to the fun run preparations, it kicked off at noon on Sunday. It was a fantastic festive fun event with 75 runners, joggers and walkers turning up, with nearly half of them dressed in their Santa costumes. A full report on the race including the results is on the Fun Run page.
This week is my last full week in work for 2 months so I have been busy chasing suppliers to make sure all our equipment is ready for the start of the 2010 season. Work Christmas party is on Friday afternoon and then a couple of days next week and then Holidays.
The next couple of weeks are likely to go by in just as much of a blur as the past couple but I will do my best to keep you posted on the final stages of my preparations. News on new sponsors and the the final weight in will all be up shortly.
